The Board’s composition is as follows:
- The Mayor of the City of Peterborough or another Council Member appointed by resolution of that Council.
- One member of Council appointed by resolution of the Council
- Two provincial appointees who live and/or work in the City of Peterborough as appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
- One person appointed by resolution of the Council, who is neither a member of the Council nor an employee of the municipality

No judge, justice of the peace, police officer or person who practices criminal law as a defense counsel may sit as a member of a Police Services board.
