Crime Prevention
Educating & Assisting the Community
The Peterborough Police Service prides itself in being a leader in community-based policing since 1978. Through crime prevention, the goal of our Service is to educate and assist community members to become aware of their own safety and to be proactive in the reduction of crime and eliminating the opportunity for crime.
Crime prevention through the team-policing and community-based policing is a part of the core philosophy of how we approach all of our duties. We work in partnership with the community to ensure that people’s rights, lives and property are secure. We offer crime prevention tips through personal interaction, media, presentations, and events. You can find tips for parents, students of all ages, seniors, business & retail establishments, homeowners, and traffic safety here in our Crime Prevention section. We are always available to answer your specific questions: call 705-876-1122 and ask for the “ARU” (Advance Response Unit).
Together we make Peterborough, Lakefield and Cavan Monaghan a better place to live, work and play.
