Mobile Crisis Intervention Team
The Peterborough Police Service's Mobile Crisis Intervention Team (MCIT) consists of two teams, each comprised of a Police Constable partnered with a Mental Health Worker from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). The MCIT is a primary and secondary response unit that responds to calls involving individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The MCIT provides daily coverage between the hours of 7:00 a.m and 12 a.m, Monday-Saturday.
Both the mental health workers and officers have extensive experience in mental health and are passionate about their field. The teams respond in a uniform capacity and in an unmarked police vehicle.
