Internet Luring Arrest
A 27-year-old Trent Lakes man has been arrested and charged in connection with an online investigation.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, members of the Peterborough Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Trent Lakes and took the suspect into custody.
As a result, a 27-year-old Trent Lakes man was arrested and charged with:
- Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by means of Telecommunication
- Make Sexually Explicit Material available to a Person Under 16 yrs of age
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, November 21, 2023.

Robbery Suspect Arrested
A 36-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with several robberies last week.
At approximately 12:50am on November 13, 2023, officers were called to a business in the Hunter Street and Burnham Street area after it was reported two men entered the store and took cigarettes and lottery tickets before fleeing. Officers continue to search for a second suspect in this case.
At approximately 12:57pm on November 13, 2023, an online report was made about a man entering a store in the King Street and Bethune Street and forcefully taking cigarettes from behind the counter before fleeing.
At approximately 6:45pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023, officers were called to the business in the Parkhill Road and Water Street area. Upon arrival, they learned that a male had taken the automatic coin register and brandished a knife at employees when they tried to stop him.
At approximately 2:15am on November 17, 2023, officers were notified about a man who had entered a store in the Sherbrooke Street and Denure Street area and fled with up to 80 packages of cigarettes.
Through investigation it was determined that the same suspect was involved in the four incidents. At approximately 3:45pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, an officer on general patrol in the area of Dublin Street and Aylmer Street spotted the suspect and took him into custody.
As a result, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Theft X4
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation
The accused is currently bound by a release order and a probation order with the following condition to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on November 18, 2023.

Warrant Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant is facing several charges.
At approximately 8:40pm on Saturday, November 18, 2023, officers on general patrol in the area Aylmer Street and Dublin Street spotted a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. They followed and located the truck stopped on a nearby street with neither the driver nor passenger in sight. Officers, including K9 Gryphon, checked the vehicle and spotted four long-gun rifles in the back seat. The guns and truck were seized.
On Monday, November 20, 2023, a 44-year-old Peterborough man turned himself in to police on the warrant for Mischief Under $5000 and Failing to Comply with Probation. Through investigation it was learned that the guns seized from the truck were his.
As a result, he was further charged with:
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition x4
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on December 19, 2023.
Drug Arrest
A 60-year-old Peterborough man is facing trafficking charges after a traffic stop Saturday.
At approximately 10:15pm on November 18, 2023, officers on general patrol noticed a vehicle driving without lights on in the Dublin Street and London Street area and conducted a traffic stop. The passenger attempted to walk away from the vehicle but was stopped by officers. They learned that the passenger had an outstanding warrant in another jurisdiction. During arrest, officers located cash and drug paraphernalia on the suspect along with some drugs. More drugs were seized from the vehicle.
In total, officers seized:
- 7 grams of Fentanyl
- 6.6 grams of Cocaine
- Canadian Currency
- Drug paraphernalia
As a result, a 60-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 - in Canada
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on November 19, 2023.
