Robbery Arrest
A 49-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday afternoon.
At approximately 1:00pm on November 10, 2023, officers were made aware of an attempted street-level robbery. Upon arrival to the area, they learned that a woman had been walking in the George Street North and Charlotte Street area when someone attempted to aggressively grab the cellphone out of her hand before pushing the woman and leaving the area. Officers were able to view footage from the Peterborough Police Service cameras in the area which helped identify the suspect.
On November 16, 2023, officers with the Street Crime Unit spotted the suspect in the Lansdowne Street and Monaghan Road area and took the suspect into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Fail to Comply with Probation
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, November 17, 2023.
Warrant Arrest
A 19-year-old Bowmanville man is facing charges in connection with several domestic incidents.
On November 14, 2023, officers were called to a residence after learning that an unwanted male had returned several times despite being on order to stay away. Upon arrival, the male was no longer in the area, however, officers learned of other previous incidents in the past two weeks.
The male was arrested by Durham Regional Police on the strength of a warrant and returned to Peterborough Police.
As a result, a 19-year-old Bowmanville man was charged with:
- Criminal Harassment – beset and watch person known to complainant X2
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking X3
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court November 16, 2023.
Robbery Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a robbery at a Peterborough business Thursday evening.
At approximately 6:45pm on November 16, 2023, officers were called to the business in the Parkhill Road and Water Street area. Upon arrival, they learned that a male had taken the automatic coin register and brandished a knife at employees when they tried to stop him. The male fled the scene in a grey van with a female driver. Officers were able to locate the van a short distance away, but the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as:
- Male, white
- 30-40 years old
- Facial hair
- Wearing a long white t-shirt, camouflage pants, grey t-shirt wrapped around his head

Robbery Suspect Sought - Update - Arrest Made
A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Thursday morning.
At approximately 5:15am on November 16, 2023, officers were called to the business at McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had attempted to pay for several items but when the card was declined, brandished a knife at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk handed over some cash and the suspect fled on bicycle westbound on McDonnel Street.
On November 17, 2023, officers spotted the suspect on Hunter Street and took the suspect into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with a Weapon
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court tomorrow, November 18, 2023.
