Sudden Death – Update #2
The Peterborough Police Service continues to assist the Coroner in the investigation of a recent sudden death.
At approximately, 1:10pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024, officers were made aware of a body in the creek in the area of Charlotte Street and the King Street garage.
At this time, the circumstances around the death are not considered suspicious. Police are not searching for any suspects and there is no threat to public safety as a result of the incident.

Assault Arrest
A 15-year-old Peterborough male is facing a charge after an incident Wednesday night.
At approximately 11:40pm on July 24, 2024, officers were called to Del Crary Park about a group of 15 people fighting. Upon arrival, officers noticed a group of middle-aged males and another group of young people running away from the dock area. Officers further learned that a 41-year-old male victim had been punched in the face by one of the youths. While officers were speaking with the victim, the suspect was spotted in the park and taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 9, 2024.
