Voyeurism Arrest
A 23-year-old Douro man is facing a charge after an investigation.
On July 16, 2024, officers were made aware of videos that were taken without consent. As a result, a search warrant of the suspect’s residence was granted. On Friday, July 19, the suspect turned himself in to Peterborough Police and the search warrant was executed.
As a result, a 23-year-old Douro man was arrested and charged with:
- Voyeurism
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Saturday, July 20,2024
Sudden Death – Update
A Coroner’s investigation continues after the body of a 57-year-old Peterborough man was found in Jackson Creek on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 1:10pm on July 20, 2024, officers were called to the creek in the area of the pathway off Charlotte Street near the King Street garage.
The area was closed for several hours on Saturday.
Robbery Suspect Sought

Original Release
Peterborough Police are investigating after a robbery at a local bank.
At approximately 3:40pm on Friday, July 19, 2024, officers were called to the bank in the Chemong Road and Wolsely Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had entered the bank, threatened to burn it down and demanded money. The man was given some cash before he fled. Through investigation it was learned that the suspect changed his clothes behind another store and left the area.
The suspect is described as (images below during incident and after changing clothes)
- White male
- 40-50 years old
- Tall, thin build
- Wearing during the incident: white plaid shirt, black pants, dark beanie with visor, sunglasses, medical mask, black shoes, white vinyl gloves
- Wearing after the incident: navy/black t-shirt, green cargo shorts, grey ball cap, black shoes with white soles and possibly a yellow and pink backpack

Robbery Arrest
A 35-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an armed robbery at a local business.
At approximately 9:40pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024, officers received a 9-1-1 call about a knifepoint robbery. Upon arrival officers learned that the woman had entered the store taken several items and started walking out of the store, brandishing a knife and verbally threatening an employee. She was seen fleeing in a vehicle.
Several minutes later a second call was received about an altercation between several people in the same vehicle in the area of Murray Street and Water Street. Officers went to the area and located two people matching the descriptions given to police nearby. After investigations, one person was released unconditionally; while the suspect wanted in connection with the robbery was taken into custody. During a search after arrest, officers seized the items from the business and two pocketknives.
As a result, a 35-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Armed Robbery
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Stunt Driving
A 19-year-old Etobicoke man is facing a stunt driving charge after a traffic stop Saturday morning.
At approximately 11:50am on July 20, 2024, an officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area of County Road 10 and Mt. Pleasant Road when two vehicles were spotted travelling at approximately 150km/hour in a 60km/h zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop the lead vehicle went through a stop sign and took off while the second vehicle stopped.
As a result, the 19-year-old Etobicoke was issued tickets for stunt driving and speeding. The driver also had their vehicle for impounded for 14 days and license seized.
