Robbery Arrest - UPDATE
A 49-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with several incidents in Peterborough this year.
At approximately 2:15pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, officers were called to a bank in the Chemong Road and Wolsley Street area about a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, officers found a man being held by another customer. The suspect was taken into custody. It was learned that he had entered the bank and demanded money while carrying a can of lighter fluid.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Further investigation revealed that the man was also wanted in connection with a similar incident at the same bank on July 19, 2024, and a break and enter at a gas bar on Lansdowne Street West on April 1, 2024.
As a result, he was further charged with:

- Robbery with Violence
- Disguise with intent
- Assault with a weapon
- Utter threats cause bodily harm
April 1, 2024 Incident
- Break, Enter a place - commit indictable offence
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, August 7, 2024.

Break and Enter – UPDATE
A 40-year-old Peterborough man wanted in connection with a break and enter at a downtown business has been arrested.
On Friday, August 2, 2024, an officer and a special constable were made aware of several people sleeping outside in the Water Street and Murray Street area. When they went to check on them, it was discovered that one of them was the male wanted in connection with the break and enter.
As a result, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with:
- Break and Enter a place to commit an indictable offence
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Friday, August 2, 2024.
