Hate/Bias Incident Investigation – Update #3
Members of the Peterborough Police Service Auxiliary Unit will be in the neighbourhood of Parkhill Road West and Crowley Crescent as well as Monaghan Road and Hopkins Avenue canvassing for video this evening.
It’s anticipated the canvass will happen after 6:00pm. It is in relation to the recent incidents of anti-Semitic pamphlets being dropped off in the neighbourhood.

Impaired Arrest
A 62-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges in connection with a collision in Peterborough Wednesday evening.
At approximately 6:00pm on July 12, 2023, officers were called to the area of Parkhill Road and Fairbairn Street by a concerned motorist. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle had struck a vehicle stopped at a light before continuing on and striking a tree. The officer further noticed signs of impairment with the driver. No one was injured in the incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 62-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving while under suspension
- Careless driving
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court August 8, 2023.
