Assault Arrest
A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing domestic-related charges after several incidents were reported to police.
On Friday, November 17, 2023, officers were made aware of a numbers of incidents between a couple over the course of several months where the female reported being sexually assaulted, slapped, choked, kicked, and that the male was threatening to distribute personal photos of the female. The female also indicated the male had a gun in his vehicle.
At approximately 7:30pm, officers attended a residence in the Brealey Drive and Stenson Boulevard area, when the suspect pulled into the parking lot. Because of the possibility of a firearm a high-risk takedown was conducted including K9 Gryphon to prevent escape. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and a replica gun (pictured below) and ammunition were located and seized from the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Assault - Spousal X4
- Extortion
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on November 18, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 33-year-old Dunsford man is facing impaired charges after an incident Tuesday evening.
At approximately 10:40pm on November 21, 2023, officers were called to a parking lot in the Fisher Drive and Crawford Drive area about a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had been located slumped over the wheel of a vehicle and was being treated by EMS. Officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver and some drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Dunsford man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court December 12, 2023.
Sudden Death Investigation
Peterborough Police are on scene in the area of Bethune Street and King Street.
Tuesday, November 21, 2023, officers were called to the area about a sudden death.
There will be police activity in the area as Peterborough Police assists with the Coroner’s investigation.
