Weapons Arrest
A 45-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Tuesday evening.
At approximately 10:00pm on May 24, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the Downie Street and Dublin Street area on reports of an unwanted female. Upon arrival, officers encountered a woman, matching the description provided to police, on the street yelling. Officers further learned that the woman had threatened a resident with a knife when asked to leave their property. The woman was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, May 25, 2022.
Break & Enter
Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter at residence in Lakefield.
It’s believed the incident happened between 11:00pm on Monday, May 24, 2022, and 7:00am on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. A garage in the William Street and Caroline Street area was entered with several power tools and sport equipment was taken.

Counterfeit Coins – Update
The investigation into a number of $2 coins has concluded.
Originally, based on information, it had been thought the coins were counterfeit, however, further investigation determined the currency was in fact genuine.

Peterborough Police want to make the public aware about counterfeit coins that may be circulating in Peterborough.
On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, over a dozen counterfeit $2 coins were turned in. The coins had been found in the out chute of a coin machine at a Chemong Road plaza.
