Fraud Prevention Month
The Peterborough Police Service continues to receive multiple calls a day about various frauds and scams. Recently, officers received a call from a resident indicating that $8000 had been exchanged in a Grandparent Scam situation. Officers have also received calls about fraudsters impersonating police and other law enforcement officials such as Canada border services.
March is Fraud Prevention Month. This year’s theme through the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre is “Tricks of the Trade: What’s in a fraudster’s toolbox?”
