Assault Arrest
A 39-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on July 11, 2023, officers were called to a business at The Parkway and Towersgate Road about a disturbance involving two women. Upon arrival, officers located one woman being held by two men outside the business. Officers further learned that the 35-year-old female victim had called police after a woman had jumped out from behind the victim’s vehicle and came at her with a knife. The victim was able to go back into the business and call police. During the incident, the victim’s car was damaged and one of the men was struck with the knife during a struggle with the suspect but did not require medical attention.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon X2
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose X2
- Criminal Harassment - beset and watch complainant
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to not possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, July 12, 2023.
