Robbery Arrest
A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after an incident early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 2:30am on February 20, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Hazlitt Street and Rogers Street area of Peterborough about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a dispute between two men had escalated with one of the men demanding money and striking the other with a baseball bat and then a knife before fleeing the area. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, a warrant was sought and issued for the suspect.
At around 2:15pm on February 20, 2024, K9 Officer Wentworth and PSD Gryphon were on general patrol when the suspect was spotted walking in the Aylmer Street and McDonnel Street area. The officer approached with PSD Gryphon and took the suspect into custody without incident.
A 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault with a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, February 21, 2024.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 28-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 12:00pm on February 20, 2024, officers were called about an unknown woman in a residence in the Aylmer Street and Dublin Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned a woman had broken into the home, defecated in the bedroom and put on some of the homeowner’s clothing before being chased out of the house as police arrived. She was taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Break, Enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court yesterday, February 20, 2024.
Break and Enter Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a residential break and enter early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 1:45am on February 21, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Village Crescent and Lansdowne Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a homeowner had woken up to find an unknown man in their home. When spotted the man fled the home with some prescription medication. Officers started searching the area and K9 Officer Wentworth and PSD Gryphon were called in for a track. During the search, officers were led a distance to a broken window on an abandoned house in the Lansdowne Street and Clonsilla Avenue area. Officers searched and determined no one was in the building.
The suspect was described to police as:
- Male
- 5'10"
- Thin build
- Wearing dark clothes including a dark hoodie
