Robbery Arrest
A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing a robbery with theft charge after an incident Tuesday morning.
At approximately 7:15am on April 18, 2023, officers were called to a convenience store in the McDonnel Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival officers learned that man had entered the store and taken a lighter, however, when confronted returned the item and left. Several minutes later the man came back and went behind the counter with the clerk, demanded the cash register be opened and then shoved him out of the way before leaving with cash and other items. Later that day, officers on patrol saw a man matching the description given to police and took him into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with theft
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court today, April 19, 2023.
