Impaired Arrest

A 23-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident Monday morning.

At approximately 8:45am on September 9, 2024, officers were called to the area of Payne Street and Wilson Street about a vehicle stuck on top of a large rock.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with two men, through investigation it was learned one of the men was the driver.  Officers noticed signs of impairment with driver. During the process it was learned the driver had given officers a false name.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired - alcohol
• Obstruct Peace Officer (providing a false name)

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 22, 2024.

Drug Arrest

Two people are facing drug-related charged charges after an incident Monday evening.

At approximately 11:00pm on September 9, 2024, officers were called to the area of King Street and Bethune about a disturbance in a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with a woman in the vehicle who had been trying to wake the driver.  The driver upon waking attempted to reverse the vehicle and officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver. 

Both were taken into custody and during a search after arrest officers seized:

• 16.9 grams of Fentanyl
• 18.5 grams of Cocaine
• 4 knives
• Drug paraphernalia
• Canadian currency

As a result of the investigation:

A 36-year-old Keene woman was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
• Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court

The accused is currently bound by a release order with the following conditions: to remain her residence between 9pm and 6am.

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, September 10, 2024.

A 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired - drugs
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
• Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 22, 2024.

Assault Arrest

A 51-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.

At approximately 10:15pm on September 9, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Park Street North and Parkhill Road West area about a disturbance.  Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had kicked the female, spat on her and then taken her phone.  

As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

• Assault – Spousal
• Theft Under $5000

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court September 10, 2024.

The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this incident of intimate partner violence.
