Warrant Arrest
An investigation has resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old Peterborough man wanted on a warrant for several charges including robbery, assault with a weapon and bail violations.
At approximately 11:50pm on October 23, 2023, the man was located in the area of Wolfe Street and Aylmer Street.
As a result, a 36-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants.
He is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 24, 2023.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
A 54-year-old North York man is facing charges after a vehicle reported stolen in Toronto was spotted in Peterborough Monday morning.
At approximately 9:10am on October 23, 2023, officers on general patrol in the George Street and King Street area were alerted to the stolen vehicle by the Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system. The vehicle was idling with a person in the driver seat. Officers parked at the front and the back of the vehicle, approached, and took the driver into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old North York man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 - in Canada
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court November 21, 2023.
