Homicide Park Street South April 20, 2022 – UPDATE
The Peterborough Police Service has charged two people in connection with a shooting on April 20, 2022, in Peterborough.
At approximately 1:00pm on April 20, 2022, officers were called to a residence in the Park Street South and Lansdowne Street area. Upon arrival, two victims with gunshot wounds were located.
A 31-year-old Mississauga man succumbed to his injuries at hospital and a 29-year-old Mississauga male was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After a thorough and lengthy investigation, Peterborough Police have charged:
An 18-year-old GTA male with:
- Manslaughter
- Aggravated assault
The male was a youth at the time of the offence. He will appear in court on these charges on Friday, October 20, 2023.
23-year-old Anthony Powell of Toronto with:
- Accessory after the fact of Murder
- Accessory after the fact of aggravated assault.
Powell is currently in custody on unrelated drug charges, however, was on a release order at the time of the Peterborough incident.
He will appear in court on these charges on Monday, October 30, 2023.
