Joint Investigation Arrest ICE Unit

A 37-year-old Regina, SK man was arrested after a joint investigation between the Peterborough Police Service ICE Unit and the Saskatchewan ICE Unit.

In early May 2023, an officer with the Peterborough Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit, commenced an online investigation on a variety of social media platforms.

While online, the officer developed grounds to arrest a male from Regina, SK with the offences of Luring a child, contrary to sec. 172.1(1)(b) of the Criminal Code X2.

The details of the investigation were forwarded to the Saskatchewan ICE Unit, and upon further investigation the male was identified and charged.

Uttering Threats Arrest

A 45-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.

At approximately 8:30pm on May 21, 2023, officers were called to the Lansdowne Street East and Willowcreek area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a woman walking her dog had been approached by a man known to her. The suspect made verbal threats toward her and her dog while flashing a knife. Officers were able to locate the man and took him into custody where he became assaultive toward the officers. During a search of the accused, officers located and seized four knives.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Monday, May 22, 2023.

Assault Arrest

Two Peterborough men are facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:15am on May 20, 2022, officers on general patrol saw a physical altercation in the area of George Street North and Dalhousie Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that two men had been fighting when a van pulled up, two men with baseball bats jumped out and struck one of the men before fleeing the scene. The van was spotted a short distance away and officers conducted a traffic stop. K9 Gryphon was deployed to ensure no one was able to flee the vehicle and the suspects were taken into custody without incident. Police recovered one bat at the scene and the other in the vehicle. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Assault with a Weapon Arrest

A 29-year-old Peterborough man is facing a charge after an incident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:30am on May 20, 2023, officers were called to the area of Bethune Street and Charlotte Street about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had been shot in the face with a pellet gun during a dispute at a residence. Officers located a man nearby matching the description given to police and took him into custody. They then attended a residence, and a pellet gun was seized. The victim was not seriously injured.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 13, 2023.

Assault with a Weapon Arrest

A 40-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:45pm on May 19, 2023, officers were called to a disturbance at Millennium Park. Upon arrival, officers learned that there had been a dispute between two men, and one had brandished a knife. Both the victim and the suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Officers located a knife near the scene and a man matching the description of the suspect was stopped several blocks away, however, further investigation was required.

As a result of the investigation, on Sunday, May 21, 2023, a 40-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
