Possession of Weapon Arrest
A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday evening.
At approximately 9:30pm on June 26, 2023, officers were called to the area of Rink Street and George Street North about a man waving around what appeared to be a gun. Upon arrival to the area, officers spotted a male matching the description given to police and took him into custody along with a female who was later released unconditionally. K9 Gryphon was called in to help search for a weapon, but none was located. Officers were later directed to a nearby parking lot and a BB gun was located.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Breach of probation
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court July 25, 2023.
