Drug Arrest

On the 17^th of July 2023, Police received information of a housing unit takeover on Downie Steet in the City of Peterborough. One male was located and taken into custody. During a search after arrest, officers seized:

42.9 grams cocaine
20 grams of pink fentanyl
29.5 grams of marijuana
2 cell phones
$2915 cash
31 tablets of Percocet

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Scarborough male was arrested and charged with:

Possession of a scheduled I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
Possession of a scheduled I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Fentanyl)
Possession of a scheduled I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Percocet)
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under (cash)

A quantity of handgun rounds was also seized during the investigation.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court for a bail hearing today, July 18th.

MVC Rink/George Street

A 23-year-old, Courtice man is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough, Monday evening.

At approximately 9:40pm, an officer on general patrol in the George Street and Dalhousie Street area spotted a truck squealing its tires in a parking lot. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the vehicle fled. Police did not pursue the vehicle due to public safety. A short time later police received a call regarding a two-vehicle collision at George and Rink Street.

The suspect was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of minor injuries and released.

Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero - HTA
Driver fail to wear seat belt properly - HTA

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled in court on August 8^th, 2023.
