Assault Arrest - UPDATE
Four teenagers are facing charges in connection with an assault on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
The incident happened in the early morning hours in the Hunter Street East and Mark Street area. Through investigation it was learned that as the youths and the victim passed each other on the street, one of them spat at the victim. The victim confronted the group, and a struggle ensued. During the scuffle, the victim was punched, kicked, and had items thrown at him. The victim’s turban was dislodged during the incident. The youths fled the area following the altercation.
As a result of the investigation and consultation with the local crown attorney’s office:
A 14-year-old Ennismore male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 9, 2024.
A 14-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 9, 2024.
A 15-year-old Omemee male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 9, 2024.
A 15-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 9, 2024.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Code, the name of a young person cannot be released.
