Assault Arrest
A 49-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Thursday morning.
At approximately 12:15am on May 30, 2024, officers were called to a residence about an unwanted male who did not live there. Upon arrival, officers located the male in the building and while trying to escort him out the man he resisted and shoved one of the officers into a bank of mailboxes. The man continued to resist, and an officer deployed their Conducted Energy Weapon to take the man into custody.
As a result, a 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 30, 2024.

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, the Peterborough Police Service will be hosting its 2nd Community Open House. The event will take place at the police station at 500 Water Street from 10:00 am – 1:00pm.
