Assault Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing an assault charge after an incident at a Peterborough business Wednesday morning.
At approximately 10:15am on May 18, 2022, officers were called to a business in the George Street and Dalhousie Street area after it was reported the owner had been spat on by a customer who was asked to leave. Upon arrival officers learned the male had fled the area, however, a short time later an officer on a separate call located a man matching the description given to police and the man was taken into custody. The store owner did not require medical attention.
As a result, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with assault.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 14, 2022.
Assault Suspect Sought
Peterborough Police are investigating after an incident at a Peterborough business Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 4:30pm on May 18, 2022, officers were called to a business on Chemong Road about a theft in progress and that a customer was attempting to hold the suspect. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled the area after punching the good Samaritan customer in the arm. The customer did not require medical attention.
The suspect is described to police as:
- White male
- 30-40 years of age
- Average build
- Grey jacket
- Dark jeans
- Red and black ball cap

Impaired Arrest
A 24-year-old Cavan-Monaghan Township man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Thursday morning.
At approximately 2:15am on May 19, 2022, officers were called to a parking lot in the Lansdowne Street and Dobbin Road area about a man sleeping with the vehicle running. Upon arrival, officers were able to wake the man and noticed obvious signs of impairment including open alcohol in the vehicle.
As a result, a 24-year-old Cavan-Monaghan Township man was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused was given an automation 90-day licence suspension and vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2022.
