Impaired Arrest
A 43-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:45pm on March 20, 2024, officers were called to the area of Armour Road and Hunter Street East after several reports of a man in a vehicle asleep behind the wheel in the middle of the road. When officers arrived on scene, EMS had the driver under assessment. Through further discussion with the driver signs of impairment were observed. It was also learned that the driver was currently bound by two separate driving suspensions.
As a result, a 43-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drugs
- Drive while suspended X2 (Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 9, 2024.
Utter Threats Arrest
A 16-year-old Peterborough male is facing a charge after an incident Wednesday.
On March 20, 2024, officers were made aware of threatening messages sent from one teen to another through Instagram.
As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 11, 2024.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Code the name of a young person cannot be released.
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose Arrest
A 15-year-old Peterborough male is facing a charge after an incident Monday afternoon.
On Wednesday, March 20, 2024, officers were made aware of an incident on Monday, March 18th at approximately 3:00pm. Several teens were at a bus stop on Armour Road when there was an interaction and one of them pulled out a knife and held it up to the other teen, before putting it away and leaving the area.
As a result of an investigation, a 15-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 8, 2024.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Code the name of a young person cannot be released.
