Assault Arrest
A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday evening.
At approximately 7:40pm on May 31, 2023, officers were called to a residence in the Chemong Road and Milroy Drive area about a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had assaulted several family members before running behind a shed. K9 Gryphon was deployed to help with suspect apprehension, while another officer drew their conducted energy weapon. The suspect complied with officers demands and he was taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with A Weapon x4
- Assault
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to not contact or be near the other family members involved in this incident.
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, June 1, 2023.
