Ongoing Police Investigation - Evidence Search - Update

The police activity today (Thursday, July 11, 2024) at Lock 19 is now complete. The investigation is ongoing.

Please be aware there will be extra police presence in the area of Lock 19, Lansdowne Street and River Road South area, for an ongoing police investigation. It’s expected police will be in the area for several hours starting at 10:00am.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Peterborough Police Service Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) are assisting.

The search is for evidence in an ongoing investigation.

There is no threat to public safety.

Break and Enter Suspect Sought

The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a break and enter at a Peterborough business.

At approximately 2:00am on July 11, 2024, officers were called about an incident a store in the Chandler Crescent and Parkhill Road West area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a vehicle may have been backed into the building and that the suspects, a male and a female, fled with cigarettes, lottery tickets and chocolate.

Through investigation, the suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 - Male

Caucasian
30’s
Green Jacket with light coloured sleeves
Beige shorts
Black running shoes

Suspect #2 - Female

Caucasian
20-30’s
Dark coloured with hood up
Blue hoody
Black leggings
Possibly gloves

The vehicle is a newer model Toyota Highlander SUV that has rearend damage.
