Drug Offences Arrest
A 20-year-old Township of Douro-Dummer man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
At approximately 3:00am on December 14, 2023, officers on general patrol noticed some suspicious activity involving two vehicles in the area of McDonnel Street and Reid Street and conducted a vehicle stop. During the stop the officer noticed signs of drug use in the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody.
Officers seized:
- Cocaine- 108.9 grams
- Fentanyl- 66.9 grams
- Several types of pills
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Township of Douro-Dummer man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule II substance - Other drugs
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 14, 2023.
Assault with a Weapon
A 30-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after a neighbour dispute early Thursday morning.
At approximately 3:30am on December 14, 2023, officers were called to the area of Wolfe Street and Aylmer Street about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned a woman had been struck with a bicycle tire by another woman. The victim did not require medical attention.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court January 9, 2024.
Assault Arrest
A 48-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident was reported to police.
On December 13, 2023, officers were made aware of an incident that had happened in November. Officers learned that a verbal dispute escalated and a 13-year-old was choked and verbally threatened by a family member.
As a result of the investigation, a 48-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke - Youth
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court January 9, 2024.
