Safe Travels – Easter Weekend
The Peterborough Police Service wishes residents to have a safe long weekend.
“As we continue to see the weather improve, this is a good time to remind motorists to drive safely, do not drive distracted, wear your seatbelt, and watch your speed,” states Sergeant Ryan Wilson, Traffic Unit.
Over the past three months, officers have laid 2,384 traffic-related charges including 1,145 for speeding.
January 2023:
Traffic Tickets = 795 Speeding = 415
February 2023:
Traffic Tickets = 727 Speeding = 345
March 2023:
Traffic Tickets = 862 Speeding = 385

Assault Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough woman is facing an assault charge after a domestic incident Wednesday evening.
At approximately 9:15pm on April 5, 2023, officers were called to a residence. Upon arrival officers learned that a verbal dispute had escalated, and a male victim was punched.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Spousal
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on April 20, 2023.
