Aggravated Assault/Robbery Arrest
Two Peterborough males are facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 2:40am on May 25, 2024, officers were called to the area of Lake Street and George Street by EMS about a man who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers learned that two suspects had been attempting to take the victim’s Ebike. A K9 track was started when a second call came in about two males matching the description given to police with a knife in the George Street and Sherbrooke Street area. Officers arrived in the area and two males were found on Charlotte Street and taken into custody without incident. During a search of the suspects after arrest officers seized two knives. The 52-year-old victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and then taken to a Toronto hospital for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery and Wounding
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
An 18-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Robbery and Wounding
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
Both accused are being held in custody and will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) Court today, May 25, 2024.
