Break and Enter Arrest
A 38-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants is facing new charges after an incident at a business recently.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, officers were made aware of an attempt break and enter at a business on George Street North on Monday, October 16, 2023. During the investigation, security video from the business was obtained, and it provided an image and description of the suspect. At 12:01am on Saturday, October 21, 2022, an officer on general patrol in the Water Street and Simcoe Street area spotted a man matching the description and image of the person wanted in connection with the attempted break and enter. The officer took the man into custody without incident. It was further learned that the man was also wanted on warrants.
As a result, a 38-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:
- Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Break and Enter Suspects Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after incidents at two businesses on Lansdowne Street West early Friday morning.
On Friday, October 20, 2023, one business reported their security system showed a man and a woman attempting to get into the store, before taking off in a black sedan. It’s believed the incident happened around 4:00am.
That same day a second business reported an employee came to work and noticed a safe with a significant amount of money had been stolen. Security system footage showed a man and a woman in the store leaving with the safe. It’s believed this incident happened about 5:30am on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The suspects are believed to be connected to both incidents and are described as:
Suspect #1:
- white male
- grey pants/sweater
- brown shoes
- average build
- black mask
Suspect #2:
- white female
- grey sweater
- black mask
- black pants
- white/black shoes

Robbery Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 8:50pm on October 22, 2023, officers were called to the area of Murray Street and Aylmer Street after a man reported he had been robbed at knifepoint, verbally threatened, and his cellphone stolen. The victim was not injured in the incident.
A short time later a man matching the description given to police was spotted in the area and taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Armed robbery
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or bodily harm
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, October 23, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 12:40am on October 21, 2023, an officer on general patrol in the Aylmer Street and Townsend Street area came across a vehicle that was partially on the curb and had damage to the front passenger side. The officer approached the vehicle to check on the driver. As they did so, they noticed signs of impairment. It was further learned that the driver had a suspended license.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving while under suspension
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accuse was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court November 7, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing impaired charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 3:30am on October 21, 2023, officers were in the area of George Street and King Street when they saw two men approach a vehicle in a parking lot. Concerned that the men may be impaired, officers conducted a traffic stop and noticed signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court November 7, 2023.
