Stabbing Arrest
A man is in custody and another male has been taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of non-life threatening injuries after a stabbing this morning.
There will be a police presence in the area Stewart Street and Wolfe Street area while officers investigate.
There is no immediate threat to public safety. Any further details will be released when available.
Impaired Arrest
A 53-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident early Sunday morning.
At approximately 1:00am on May 28, officers were called to the area of Barnardo Street and Wolseley Street by Peterborough Fire Services after a vehicle struck a hydro pole. Upon arrival, officers determined that the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and that there signs of impairment with the driver. No injuries were reported in the collision.
As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Disobey stop sign - fail to stop
The accused was also issued a 90-day automatic license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court June 21, 2023.
Impaired Arrest
A 19-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:00am on May 28, 2023, officers were called to the area of Nassau Mills Road and Water Street about a vehicle into a hydro pole. Upon arrival, officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation
Highway Traffic Act
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
- Driver fail to surrender licence
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
- Fail to notify change of address - licence
Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
- Fail to have insurance card
The accused was issued a 90-day automatic license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court June 20, 2023.
Uttering Threats Arrest
A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:30am on May 28, 2023, officers were called to a residence about a verbal dispute. Upon arrival, officers learned that the verbal dispute escalated to include threats against a female victim and that the suspect had a hammer. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
As a result, a 32-year-old Peterborough was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, May 29, 2023.
Assault Arrest
A 52-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident between a landlord and a tenant.
On May 28, 2023, officers were assisting a tenant with retrieving his belongings, however, the tenant was unable to access the residence. As officers were leaving the area, they spotted the landlord heading toward the residence. The officers returned to ensure the safety of all parties. By the time they arrived the tenant and landlord were in an altercation, police intervened and took the landlord into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, May 29, 2023.
