A 61-year-old Lakefield man has succumbed to injuries suffered during the storm on Saturday, May 23, 2022.
The man had been struck by a falling tree near his residence.

Peterborough Police would like to thank the public for their help, patience and community as we start to recover from the storm on Saturday.
Thank you to our emergency responders and everyone working to get our community back up and running.
Emergency services continue to report a higher than normal 9-1-1 call volumes. We are asking that residents please use 9-1-1 for only emergency situations – please do not call 9-1-1 for updates on the power outage or to report a downed power line.
As the cleanup continues and power starts to return, we ask residents to:
- continue to stay away from downed trees and wires
- continue to be aware that all stop lights may not be working and to treat those that are not as four way stops
