Woodglade Boulevard Collision – Update – Investigation Ongoing
The Peterborough Police Traffic Services Reconstruction Unit continues to actively investigate the fatal collision on Woodglade Boulevard in Peterborough on Thursday, March 23, 2023. An update will be provided when available with regard to this tragic incident.
Impaired Arrest
A 55-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 1:45am on March 25, 2023, officers were called about a possible impaired driver in the area of Harper Road and Sir Sandford Fleming Drive. Officers attended the area and located the vehicle a short distance away at a residence. Officers approached the driver of the vehicle and noticed obvious signs of impairment. They also learned that the driver was not licensed.
As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence (Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was issued a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court April 20, 2023.
Indecent Act Arrest
A 35-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Saturday evening.
At approximately 11:15pm on March 25, 2023, officers were called to Barnardo Park after receiving a call about a vehicle stopping in the parking lot and a male walking into the park exposing himself and masturbating. Upon arrival, officers located a man and a vehicle matching the description given to police.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Indecent Act- public place
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 11, 2023.
Assault Arrest
A 24-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after several incidents were reported to police.
On March 25, 2023, officers were called about an unwanted person at a residence. Upon arrival, officers learned about a previous incident in which the victim was punched and choked.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault - spousal
- Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke, Suffocate or Strangle another Person
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court April 19, 2023.
Mischief Incidents
Peterborough Police have received several reports of vehicle windows being smashed early Sunday morning.
Two online reports were filed about incidents in the area Aylmer Street North and Antrim Street in Peterborough. Damage is estimated to be about $500 in each case and the reports indicate that it didn’t appear much property was taken.
