Impaired Arrest
A 42-year-old Omemee woman is facing charges after an incident Friday evening.
At approximately 7:40pm on July 26, 2024, a concerned citizen called about a vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Walnut Street and Monaghan Road and that the vehicle had gone up on the curb and blown a tire. Upon arrival, officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Omemee woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was issued a 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 10, 2024.
Break and Enter Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a residential break and enter early Saturday morning.
At approximately 1:00am on July 27, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Homewood Avenue and Hunter Street West area. Upon arrival, officers learned that a member of the residence had returned home to find two unknown people inside and a window screen pushed in. A K9 track was conducted however, after several blocks no suspects were located.
The suspects were described to police as:
- Two average sized white males
- Both wearing grey sweatpants and hoodies

Break and Enter Suspect Sought
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a break and enter was reported.
On Sunday, July 28, 2024, officers received a call from the homeowners that their residence in the Fairbairn Street and Poplar Street area had been broken into. Upon arrival, officers learned that the home had been rifled through and a significant number of items taken including a vehicle, several guitars, cash, two dirt bikes and a gun safe that held a firearm but no ammunition.
It's believed the break in happened sometime between 7:00pm on Thursday, July 25, 2024 and Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 6:30pm.

Motor Vehicle Collision – Queen Street and Hunter Street
A 52-year-old motorcyclist has been charged with making an unsafe left turn under the Highway Traffic Act after a collision Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:15pm on July 28, 2024, officers were called to the intersection of Hunter Street and Queen Street about a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle.
The 52-year-old driver of the motorcycle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
The area was closed during the investigation and reopened around 9:00pm.
