Motor Vehicle Collision – Highway 7 and North Monaghan Parkway
A 31-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act after a collision Saturday evening.
At approximately 7:50pm on January 13, 2024, officers were called to the area of Highway 7 and North Monaghan Parkway for a two-vehicle collision. Everyone involved was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. One person was later transported to a Toronto hospital for further treatment.
The area was closed for about an hour before being reopened.
Assault Arrest
A 51-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Sunday evening.
At approximately 6:45pm on January 14, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the St. Pauls Street and Hilliard Street area about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal disagreement had escalated, and the female victim had been grabbed by the face and arms.
As a result of the investigation, a 51-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Spousal
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, January 15, 2024.
Assault Peace Officer Arrest
A 26-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:30am on January 14, 2024, officers were flagged down by several staff at a business in the Charlotte Street and George Street area as they had a person refusing to leave. When officers arrived, the woman continued to be aggressive with staff and officers and during arrest kicked an officer in the leg.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault a Peace Officer
And under the Liquor Licence Control Act:
- Being Intoxicated in a Public Place
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court February 13, 2024.
