Impaired Arrest
A 32-year-old Peterborough man, is facing charges after an incident Saturday night.
On Saturday, February 24, 2024, police received information of a rental truck that had struck a fence in the area of Lansdowne Street East and Ashburnham Drive. When officers arrived on scene it was determined that the driver of the vehicle was impaired. The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Driving While Under Suspension – Highway Traffic Act
The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Assault and Breach of Undertaking
A 43-year-old Peterborough man, is facing charges after two separate incidents on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
On Saturday night, February 24, 2024, police responded to a domestic occurrence between a male and female. An argument ensued over a food delivery service and the man assaulted the woman, resulting in minor injuries. The man was later released on an Undertaking with conditions not to have any further contact with the woman. On Sunday morning, February 25, 2024, the man breached the no contact order and contacted the woman.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking
- Assault – Spousal
The accused has been released on an Undertaking and Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
