Break and Enter To Business:
Just after 8 am on Thursday January 5, 2023, police responded to a break and enter in progress to a Marina Blvd business. Upon arrival police noticed a window had been smashed.
The K-9 unit was utilized to search the business and surrounding businesses with negative results. The suspects were captured on surveillance cameras breaking the window and entering the business. A small quantity of merchandise was taken.
The suspects are described as following:
Suspect 1 – Red & Black jacket, black joggers, black shoes, gray purse/bag possible wearing snowboard goggles
Suspect 2 – Blue garbage bags on shoes, grey sweater, purple hoodie, black pants with white stripe, black backpack

Impaired Arrest
A 49-year-old Peterborough man is facing a number of charges after an incident Wednesday night.
Just before 7:00pm on January 4, 2023, officers received calls from concerned residents about a possible impaired driver in the Lansdowne Street and Willowcreek. Upon arrival to the area, officers learned that a pickup truck had been spotted driving erratically at a high rate of speed and had struck poles, traffic signs, a building and a parked vehicle. The suspect vehicle and driver were located at a residence in the Ashburnham Drive and Maria Street area. Officers noticed signs of impairment with the driver and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 49-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Dangerous operation X2
- Failure to stop after accident X2
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and 7-day vehicle impound
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court January 24, 2023.
Impaired Arrest Brealey Drive:
On Thursday January 5, 2023, just before 11:30 pm police received a call regarding a pickup truck being involved in a motor vehicle collision in the area of Kawartha Heights and Brealey Drive. The occupants of the vehicle were scene running east on Kawartha Heights Blvd.
Upon arrival police observed the vehicle had struck a pole. The driver remained at the scene while several passengers fled the scene. Through speaking to the driver, it was determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported to the station for a breathalyzer.
As a result of the investigation a 21 year old male was charged with Impaired operation and operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
The male was released and will appear in court on January 26, 2023.
