Stolen Vehicle Arrest

A 27-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Thursday night.

At approximately 11:50pm on February 23, 2023, officers were called after a vehicle was stolen from the area of Simcoe Street and George Streets.  Early Friday morning, an officer on general patrol spotted the vehicle being driven on Water Street North.  Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop, PSD Gryphon was deployed to assist in the arrest of the driver, who was taken into custody without incident.  The vehicle was then returned to the owner.   

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

• Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court March 21, 2023.

Stolen Vehicle Suspect Sought

Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a vehicle was stolen Thursday afternoon. 

At approximately 3:30pm on February 24, 2023, officers were called to the area of O’Connell Road and Park Street South about a stolen vehicle. 

The vehicle is described as (photo of type of vehicle below):

• 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe
• Black
• Rented from Enterprise Rent-A-Car
• Quebec license plate FSN3112

A male suspect is described as:

• Wearing a grey hoody
• Black sunglasses
• Dark plaid jacket
• Black pants
• Facial hair

Training Exercise – Update

Thanks to the community of Lakefield as the Peterborough Police Service and emergency personnel from the Tactical Paramedics, Peterborough Fire, Lakefield Fire, and OPG Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Operators conducted a training exercise on Thursday, February 23, 2023.   

It was a successful exercise with positive learning opportunities for all involved.
