Suspicious Vehicle Warning – Update May 3, 2023
Peterborough Police have an update on the suspicious vehicle report from Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the Royal Drive and Marina Boulevard area.
Officers have been in contact with the driver, the school and the student and have determined there was no ill intent.
We thank the public for their response and sharing of information as it shows a commitment to safety in our communities.
Residents can report any suspicious activity to police through 9-1-1 if it is an emergency or the non-emergency line at 705-876-1122 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Suspicious Vehicle Warning
Peterborough Police issuing a warning to the public about an incident in the Royal Drive and Marina Boulevard area of Peterborough Tuesday morning.
At approximately 8:15 am on May 2, 2023, officers were called after a 10-year-old student reported that while they were walking to school (Edmison Heights Public School), they were approached by an unknown female in a car and offered a ride. The child declined and told a trusted adult.
Peterborough Police Service reminds residents to be aware and report any suspicious activity to police through 9-1-1 if it is an emergency, the non-emergency line at 705-876-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Robbery/Carjacking Arrest
A man wanted in connection with a robbery/carjacking incident in Peterborough Sunday morning was arrested in Windsor on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
Peterborough Police would like to thank the LaSalle Police Service, Windsor Police Service and the OPP R.O.P.E Squad for their assistance.
The 30-year-old accused is being held in custody and will face charges in multiple jurisdictions including the following in Peterborough:
- Robbery with violence
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault with a weapon
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Flight from peace officer
- Motor vehicle theft
- Fail to stop when signaled or requested to do so by a police officer (Highway Traffic Act)
