Two men are facing charges after an investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Drug Unit.
On May 24, 2024, officers with the Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a Stewart Street short-term rental residence.
Officers seized (photo below):
- 128 grams - Cocaine
- Almost $14,000 in Canadian currency
- Drug paraphernalia
As a result,
A 30-year-old Mississauga man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 - in Canada
The accused was held in custody and appeared in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) Court on May 25, 2024.
A 31-year-old Markham man was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 - in Canada
The Markham man was also charged in connection with an incident in April after a quantity of drugs was located in a different short-term rental residence.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, officers responded to a call for service and through investigation located the following at the property:
- 63.46 grams – Fentanyl
- 412.5 grams – Cocaine
- 104.46 grams – Methamphetamine
- Drug paraphernalia
The 31-year-old accused was further charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
The accused was held in custody and appeared in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) Court on May 25, 2024.

Robbery Arrest
A 26-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Friday morning.
At approximately 11:50am on May 24, 2024, officers were called about a robbery in progress at a business on Hunter Street East in which the suspect had been yelling and throwing items and had kicked and punched a store manager. Upon arrival, officers noticed the victim on the ground and several witnesses holding down a man matching the description given to police. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
As a result, a 26-year-old Peterborough was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on May 24, 2024.
Assault Arrest
A 37-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 12:50am on May 25, 2024, officers were called to a residence on Sydenham Road about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers could also hear the disturbance. They knocked on the door but did not get a response. Entering the home, they found a male who refused to listen to repeated police demands. An officer deployed their conducted energy weapon, and the male was taken into custody. An injured woman was also found inside and taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. It was further learned that she had been kicked and a blanket held over head.
While being escorted out of the home, the male kicked and struck an officer in the leg several times.
As a result, a 37-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault – Spousal
- Assault with a Weapon - Spousal
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
The accused was held in custody and appeared in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) Court on May 25, 2024.
