Stolen Motor Vehicle Incident
The Peterborough Police Service is investigating after a vehicle with firearms inside was stolen.
It’s believed the vehicle theft happened between 1:00 am and 1:30 am on Thursday, April 24, 2024, from the area of George Street North and Charlotte Street. The vehicle was recovered at approximately 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, 2024 in the Crawford Drive and Mountain Ash Road. However, the firearms, three non-restricted long guns, have not been located.

It’s believed the guns stolen in this incident are not related to any other incidents at this time.
Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Blitz
The Peterborough Police Service Traffic Unit along with Ministry of Transportation Commercial Vehicle Inspectors and members of the Cobourg Police Service conducted a commercial motor vehicle safety blitz on Thursday, April 25, 2025.
As a result:
- 14 Provincial Offence Notices were issued
- 8 Warnings
- 4 Vehicles were taken out of service for safety reasons
- 2 Trailers
- 2 Vehicles
The Peterborough Police Traffic Unit has one officer who was recently certified as a commercial motor vehicle inspector. The Service will conduct these types of safety blitzes on an ongoing basis.
