Stolen Vehicle/Warrant Arrest
A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident Tuesday morning.
At approximately 8:50am on June 11, 2024, officers were called about a suspicious vehicle in the Needlers Lane and Allen Lane area of Millbrook. Upon arrival, officers learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen on Monday, June 10, 2024. The male found in the driver’s seat was taken into custody. It was further learned that he was wanted on two warrants involving a dozen charges related to 10 other incidents.
As a result, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrants and further charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court June 11, 2024.
Impaired Arrest
An 18-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after a collision Tuesday night.
At approximately 9:30pm on June 11, 2024, officers were called to a two-vehicle collision at Monaghan Road and Bolivar Street. Upon arrival, officers started their investigation and during conversation with one of the drivers’ noticed signs of impairment. That driver and a passenger were taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. Three others in the second vehicle were assessed by EMS at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation While Impaired - Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Disobey Stop Sign - Fail to Stop (Highway Traffic Act)
- Novice Driver - BAC Above Zero (Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court July 23, 2024.
