Impaired Operation/Warrant Arrest
Two people are facing charges after an incident early Monday morning.
At approximately 6:00am on July 22, 2024, officers were called to the area of Middlefield Road and Crystal Drive about a woman passed out in a vehicle and the vehicle windows smashed. Upon arrival, officers located three people and a dog in the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – drugs
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court September 3, 2024.
It was further learned that a second person in the car was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with probation. As a result, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
During a search after arrest, officers located a small quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 3, 2024.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday afternoon.
At approximately 12:30pm on July 22, 2023, officers were called to a break and enter in progress in the Water Street and Dublin Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned that the house had been entered and a camera damaged. During a search of the property, they located a man in the rear garage carrying a large tote with a number of items including ammunition, keys and cell phones. Through investigation they learned he was not connected to the home or garage.
As a result, a 32-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence
- Disobeying Order of Court
The accused is currently bound by a recognizance with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to not possess any weapon or ammunition as defined by the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court September 3, 2024.
