Bus Shelters Damaged
Peterborough Police Service is asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or has video footage to come forward after the glass was smashed at eight bus shelters recently.
On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, Peterborough Police received an online report stating the incidents happened between the night of Sunday, February 19, 2023, and the morning of Monday, February 20, 2023. Damage is estimated at $8,000.
The bus shelters damaged were:
- Dobbin Road and Lansdowne Street
- Brealey Drive and Lansdowne Street
- Clonsilla Avenue and Lansdowne Street
- Monaghan Road and Lansdowne Street
- Chemong Road and Milroy Drive
- Chemong Road and Simons Avenue
- Water Street and Edinburgh
- George Street and Princess Street

Assault Arrest
A 22-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with several domestic incidents.
Peterborough Police were recently made aware of a number of incidents between a man and woman over the past several months that including choking and punching.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged on February 18, 2023 with:
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle X2
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Assault X2
- Failure to comply undertaking
The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following conditions to stay away from the victim.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
Theft of Tools
Peterborough Police Service is investigating a theft of a significant number of power tools from trailer recently.
At approximately 8:30am on Saturday, February 18, 2023, officers were made aware of the theft. Upon speaking with the victim, officers learned that the trailer had been parked in a parking lot in the area Park Street North and Lake Street between 7:00pm on Thursday, February 16th and midnight Friday, February 17, 2023 when the theft occurred. In total between $20,000 and $25,000 worth of tools was taken.
