Theft Arrest
A 37-year-old Peterborough woman is facing charges after an incident Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:30pm on December 17, 2024, officers responded to a call for service about a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female had already left the store in the Charlotte Street and Aylmer Street area. Officers searched the area, and a short time later located a woman matching the description given to police. During a search after arrest, officers located a package that was not in the suspect’s name. It was also learned that about $1500 in items had been taken from the store on December 16, 2024 and December 17, 2024.
As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:
- Theft under $5000 X2
- Failure to comply with probation X2
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - in Canada
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, December 18, 2024.
