Assault Arrest
A 39-year-old Bowmanville man is facing an assault charge after an incident Tuesday morning.
At approximately 8:30am on April 25, 2023, officers were called to the area of Aylmer Street and Simcoe Street about a dispute between a woman and a man on the street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a verbal dispute between the pair had escalated and the man had struck the woman on the head with the butt end of a knife. The victim also received a cut in the altercation. Officers located a male matching the description given to police several blocks away and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Bowmanville man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault with a weapon – Spousal
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court, Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
