Assault Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after a domestic incident Tuesday evening.
At approximately 9:30pm on April 11, 2023, officers were called by a concerned family member. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male and a female had been in verbal argument over the course of the evening and that during the argument the woman had been shoved. The victim did not require medical attention.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault - spouse
- Fail to comply with undertaking
The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following conditions to not communicate with the victim and to not attend their residence.
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, April 12, 2023.
Warrant Arrest
A 44-year-old Peterborough man is in custody on three warrants in connection with several incidents over the past two years.
On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, officers were made aware by Peterborough County OPP that the man had been arrested on an unrelated incident. They then returned the man to the Peterborough Police Service where he was arrested on the strength of a warrant for assault and theft under $5000 in connection with an incident in May of 2022 and two more warrants on driving charges including dangerous operation and flight from police and driving while suspended during an incident in February 2021.
The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, April 12, 2023.
