Robbery Arrest
A 17-year-old Peterborough male is facing charges after an incident Monday night.
At approximately 10:15pm on September 16, 2024, officers were called to a residence in the Brock Street and Aylmer Street area about a dispute between two males known to each other. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male had struck another male in the head with a hammer and demanded his sweater before fleeing the area. The victim was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. Officers located a man matching the description given to police several blocks away and took him into custody. During a search after arrest, officers seized a sweater and a hammer.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old Peterborough male was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with Weapon
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, September 17, 2024.
Assault Arrest
A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday night.
At approximately 8:15pm on September 16, 2024, officers were called to the area of Dominion Crescent and Bellevue Street about a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had approached the female victim and taken her phone. A short time later the victim located the male and demanded he return her phone. The exchange turned physical, and the male struck the woman several times with a golf club before the woman was able to flee to a nearby store for safety. She was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. Officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Theft Under $5,000
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, September 17, 2024.
Break and Enter Arrest
A 53-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Monday afternoon.
At approximately 5:00pm on September 16, 2024, officers received a call that an apartment in the Rubidge Street and Murray Street area had been broken into. Officers learned that the location is part of a landlord/tenant dispute. Upon arrival, a man matching the description given to police was located on the property. Through investigation it was determined that the man had entered the home without permission.
As a result, a 53-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:
- Break, enter and commit an Indictable Offence
- Fail to Comply with Probation
The accuse is currently bound by a probation order with the following conditions: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, September 17, 2024.
