Motor Vehicle Collision – Lansdowne Street UPD
Peterborough Police continue to investigate the cause of a collision involving six vehicles Monday afternoon.
The collision happened just before 2:00 pm on May 9, 2022 on Lansdowne Street and River Road South when a westbound vehicle collided with oncoming traffic at the intersection. A 65-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were sent to hospital, one with serious injuries and two others with minor injuries.
The road was closed for almost 8 hours while the Peterborough Police Traffic Reconstruction team investigated.

Vandalism at School
Peterborough Police are investigating after vandalism at a Peterborough elementary school.
The vandalism was spotted by school officials at St. Catherine’s Elementary School on Monday, May 9, 2022 before the start of the school day.
Given the nature of the vandalism, Peterborough Police has classified the incident as a hate bias crime.

Break and Enter Suspect Sought
Peterborough Police are investigating after a break and enter at a Peterborough business.
At approximately 3:30am on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, officers were called to alarm at the business in the Sherbrooke Street and Water Street area. Upon arrival, officers learned someone had gained access to the building through a window and had taken some items.
